Notasuch Films is a Belfast-based production company dedicated to the development and production of high quality human stories through documentaries and fact-inspired drama.



40 years after the original news coverage, Paris based Journalist and film maker Lawrence Pitkethly returns to visit the residents of Belfast’s Bombay Street. This street become synonymous with the beginning of the recent conflict in northern Ireland when it was attacked and burned to the ground by a Loyalist mob in August 1969.

To be broadcast on BBC in Spring 2011.

THE LINNET flies into Dublin!

Following screenings at the Cannes and LA film festivals, THE LINNET has now been selected for broadcast on RTE this autumn.

This documentary was distributed to CHANNEL 4's FOUR DOCS, and made its nationwide premiere on More Four.

Our work has been screened at Cannes and LA Film festivals, on More4, BBC, RTE, TG4, FourDocs and many digital channels. We have been described by Channel 4's Stuart Cosgrove as ‘a young, entrepreneurial and dynamic company’.

Our latest documentary, THE BURNING OF BOMBAY STREET will soon broadcast on BBC and our collaboration with Tobar Productions for TG4’s THE REBUILDING OF BOMBAY STREET aired in Winter 2010.

Our Drama THE LINNET toured many festivals worldwide including Cannes, Los Angeles shorts, a special showcase in Prague hosted by the British Council as well as a broadcast on RTE.

Documentaries MOVIE MAVERICKS and THE FILMS OF THE SPENCE BROTHERS, both screened on BBC Northern Ireland.

Notasuch Films has a lengthy back catalogue of drama and long form factual programming, with numerous projects currently in development. Our fact-inspired drama, LLADIA, received a special award at the BAFTA / KODAK showcase in 2002.

As an integral part of our business strategy at Notasuch Films, we also produce high end Corporate, Educational and Community films with a list of prestigious clients including projects for the progressive Mid-Antrim Museums Service, and the European Peace and Reconciliation Partnership (Peace III).
